Well it seems that everyone had some trouble, coming to camp,
on the trail, or going home. We saw a lot of beautiful country up there and some
really good jeeping. The Dusy Trail lived up to its name. In spots it sure was a
Dusy!!!!!! Have a look at the Dinkey Creek photos below for some of the
action!
Raymond and
I would like to thank everyone for their participation in this trip, and their
patience. This is a great trip to try anyone's patience, but everyone kept their
cool and was a lot of help to their fellow jeepers, we are sorry for any of the
damages that were done in those hard times, but this is one sport that we can
always tell stories around the campfire about the damages, but we all started
some where and look where we are today. We never anticipated that the Dusy Trail
is as hard as it was.
Everyone that has ever done the trail remembers the
Rubicon to be the tough one and the Dusy to be the much prettier one. At times
prior to the trip Raymond was worried that this was just going to be a dirt
trail. Dave Costillo can tell you stories about that. He had the most break
downs on the trail. Broke front and rear axle, bent the fan and the radiator had
a hole in it.
Thanks again to Ben and Linda Fakkeldy for the many pulls through
the rough spots to get David through the trail. Congratulations to all the women
that went. Not that many have gone on the trail in a long time. They stuck it
out but we were all real glad to see the gas station, (since most of us had to
coast down the mountain), and that great restaurant that the Crooks and Terry
Flood found. Good job to the McKibbon for doing so well on the trail with a
completely stock jeep.
Over all it was a great time. There was swimming, hiking, bike riding, cow
tipping, jeeping, fishing, and a lot of good food, Thanks to everyone and their
special recipes. It will always be a Dusy Trip to remember.
