The 4th Annual Halloween Run was once again a success. The weekend started with a Friday night Poker Run (which turned into a real challenge at night). Steve Foster had the winning poker hand and took home $40.00. Others participating in the poker run were Vince & Linda Bauer, Ted & Renee LeBaron and Kathy & Ed Crook.
Saturday’s trail of choice was Sledgehammer. After waiting….and waiting….the group in front of us finally started to move. We made it to the mailbox by 1:00 pm. Ben Fakkeldy was sporting his new 35" tires on his Jeep and cruising through everything…until he got to comfortable and ended up the wrong way in one spot (it was a left turn, not a right Ben). Steve, Irene, Steve Jr. and Adam hadn’t been on the trail in years and commented that there were a lot more rocks piled up now. They made it through with only minor body damage and had a great time. Raymond Davis wasn’t having as much luck. Towards the end of the trail – just before the sandhill, he ended up binding the rear-end and broke an axle. The good news is he didn’t blow any tires for once! Kathy was dragging her Jeep skid plate everywhere and is now motivated to give it a "belly up lift" and put some 35’s on it. Everyone had a great time and made it back to camp way before dark.
Also joining in the weekend festivities were Kevin, Erin and Allison Askier (and the Angel’s rally monkey), Jack and Amy Kennedy (and Rudy) and the in-laws, Gary, Terry and Justin McKibben, Terry Flood, Danny Davis, Todd & Ann, Sandy and Gregory, Joe & Sean McFarland and Dave Ladd (for a short time). Irene’s Motorhome).
