Tyler Lewis Eagle Scout Project -
Tyler is on his way to Eagle Scout soon, and one of his last requirements is
a community project. We are zeroing in on a project to build about a
dozen owl and bird houses at Goffs. If anyone is interested in contributing
funds, materials, or time to install, it will be greatly appreciated.
This still needs to be approve by BSA council and Dennis, but it looks
promising.

Monthly Fast Factuals
(ok, this is from last month, but I lost my list
of tid-bits. As soon as I find it I'll get this updated.)
Duck Tape
or Duct Tape?
OK, which is it, Duck
or Duct?
It's BOTH!
During WWII the US military needed a waterproof
tape to keep moisture out of ammo cases. J&J manufactured it, and
because it was waterproof, it was called DUCK tape. Of course it was
good for lots of other stuff like fixing Jeeps, strapping equipment to
clothing, etc. After the war the housing boom was going on and someone
discovered it was good for, you guessed it, joining heating ducts. So,
it was changed from military green to silver and named - DUCT tape.
Today there are lots of manufacturers of DUCT tape (and lots of different
qualities from great to horrible) The DUCK brand tape is manufactured
by Henkel Consumer Adhesives and is known to be the most consistent in high
quality.

Raymond Davis - Well, some TLC is in order.
Motor Mounts, and also hopefully the Dana 44 can go in before vacation.
The Askier Mobile - There is still some more work to
be done in the next few weeks to get it Dinky Creek ready.
High Desert Round-Up
Well, for the first time in years it has not been the HOT
desert Round-Up. Saturday it was quite cool and a little windy, but
Sunday it was beautiful. As usual, some went on a run on Saturday
while others just sat and did some catching up.
Sunday the games were fun as usual. John and Jane wills
really go after those potatoes, and the Foster guys you can't see for all of
the dust, in the stick and can race. Poor Ed and Kathy Crook, they looked
like dirt ghosts when they were done for the day. Everyone had a great time.
Then Steve Foster came home with first place in the Back-Up Race, and
Stephen won first place as passenger. Congratulations !!
